Hillary Clinton just introduced a brillaint bill along with key Democrats (hello election year).

The Bill would tie the minimum wage to the salaries of congress itself. So that if they want a pay-raise they've got to increase the federal minimum wage a similar percent. Plus it would standardize annual cost-of-living increases.

Part of it involves a mandatory increase of the federal minimum wage to a more livable amount ($7.25) over 60 days. This is good, in that the current minimum wage is fairly ridiculous. However it's quite likely that this part of could cost the bill a chance at making through Congress. Not that that will have anywhere near as much inflationary effect as people will make out, but actual economic theory is boring to the masses, while "IT WILL DESTROY THE ECONOMY" fits the buzzword meme that loves to get spread by the politico.

But still, a brilliant idea.
